Конспект
What are we learning today?
You will use adverbs to say how, how often and when something happens.
Explanation
- Adverbs describe verbs.
- Many adverbs are adjective + -ly: usually, normally. For "lucky", write "luckily".
- Some adverbs are special: good becomes "well". "Fast" and "hard" stay the same.
- Frequency adverbs: always, usually, often, sometimes, never. They go before the main verb.
- Comparative: fast, faster. Well, better.
- Past time words: yesterday, last night, two years ago.
Examples
- She usually gets up before 7.
- He plays well.
- Did you go to the match last night?
Remember!
- Say "well", not "goodly".
- Say "she usually gets up", not "she gets up usually".
