Pronouns and Something, Anything

What are we learning today?

You will use personal pronouns, "this" and "that", and words like "something" and "nothing".

Explanation

• Subject pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
• Object pronouns: me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
• "This" and "these" are near. "That" and "those" are far.
• Use "something" in positive sentences.
• Use "anything" in questions and negative sentences.
• "Nothing" means "not anything".
• Use pronouns so you do not repeat nouns.

Examples

1. The Lions won. They scored 20 points.
2. I bought something for Joe.
3. She didn't buy anything.

Remember!

• Say "with him", not "with he".
• Do not use "something" in a negative sentence.
