Will and Be Going To

What are we learning today?

You will talk about plans and make predictions about the future.

Explanation

• Use "will" for a prediction or an opinion about the future. The negative is "won't".
• Use "be going to" for a plan that you have already made.
• After "will", use the verb without "to".
• Useful words: tomorrow, next week, in the future, I think, I hope.

Examples

1. I think our team will win.
2. I'm going to play football on Saturday.
3. Are you going to swim?

Remember!

• Say "he will win", not "he wills win".
• Do not forget "am", "is" or "are" in "going to".
