What are we learning today?

You will understand a longer conversation or story with some help.

Explanation

• A story has a beginning, a middle and an end.
• Look at the pictures first. They help you guess the topic.
• Listen the first time for the main idea.
• Listen the second time for details, like numbers, times and sizes.
• Order words help you: first, then, after that, finally.
• You do not need to understand every word.

Examples

1. First, they ride on a sleigh.
2. Then they travel by snowmobile.
3. Finally, they dance around a fire.

Remember!

• Do not write answers after only one listening.
• Use order words to put events in order.
• Compare your answers with a partner.
