What are we learning today?

You will learn to find what a speaker thinks about a job.

Explanation

• An opinion shows what a person likes, wants or thinks.
• Listen for clue words: I love, I like, I want to be, I think.
• Listen for the adjective, like interesting or boring.
• The tone of voice helps you. Is it positive or negative?
• "I want to be" shows a wish for the future.
• A fact is not an opinion. "He works in a shop" is a fact.

Examples

1. "I love it! I want to be a famous chef." (positive)
2. "It's perfect for me." (positive)
3. "I think it's a boring job." (negative)

Remember!

• Find the feeling word.
• The speaker's opinion is not always your opinion.
