What are we learning today?

You will use in, on and at to say when and where something happens.

Explanation

• Use on with a day or a date: on May 5.
• Use in with a month or a year: in December, in 2008.
• Use at with a time or an age: at 10.30 pm, at the age of 12.
• Use in with a town or a country: in Athens.
• Use at with an event: at the Olympics.
• Use to, into and out of for direction: to the stadium, into the pool, out of the water.

Examples

1. She was born in China on January 31.
2. At the age of five, Karina started surfing.
3. She won a medal at the Olympics in 2008.
4. We run into the pool and swim out of the water slowly.

Remember!

• Dates take on. Years take in.
• Do not say "at 2004" or "in January 10".
