Fact or Opinion?

You will learn how to tell a fact from an opinion in a short text.

Explanation

• A fact can be checked.
• An opinion shows what a person thinks or feels.
• Facts often have numbers, dates and names.
• Opinion words are: I think, I love, fantastic, amazing, best, beautiful.
• "Some people say ..." also shows an opinion.
• An opinion is not always false. It is just a point of view.

Examples

1. The marine park has 42 little islands. (fact)
2. The elephant park was the best part of my trip. (opinion)
3. The bus leaves at 9. (fact) The bus is boring. (opinion)
