What are we learning today?

You will write simple facts about places and journeys.

Explanation

• A fact answers questions: where, when, how long, how far.
• A good pattern is: place, then distance or height, then what you can do.
• Check the numbers and the names.
• Write the units: kilometres, metres.
• Do not write opinions in a fact text.

Examples

1. Almaty is in the south-east of Kazakhstan. It is near the mountains.
2. The singing dunes are about 180 kilometres from Almaty.
3. Khan Tengri is 7,000 metres high.
