Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will learn to describe animals and things with adjectives. You will also compare them.

Explanation

  • Adjectives describe nouns.
  • Put an adjective after "is" or "are", or after "very". Put it before a noun too.
  • An adjective never takes -s: small eyes.
  • With two adjectives, put size before colour: big, black eyes.
  • Use "their" and "my" to show who owns something.
  • To compare, use a short adjective with -er and "than".

Examples

  1. Hippos are big and fat.
  2. My dog has short legs.
  3. Their tails are longer than their bodies.

Remember!

  • Say "small eyes", not "smalls eyes".
  • Say "longer", not "more long".

Check yourself

  1. Put the words in order: dog / short / has / legs / my.
  2. Complete the sentence: The tail is ___ the body. (long)
  3. Which comes first: size or colour?
