You will join short sentences with and, but and because.

Explanation

• Use and to put two ideas together.
• Use but to show a contrast.
• Use because to give a reason.
• Put a comma before and or but when each part has its own subject and verb.

Examples

1. Michel and Nicole are from France, and they are French.
2. I'm in the English class, but my brother is in the Maths class.
3. We love Sunday because no one works.

Remember!

• Because starts the reason in the same sentence.
• Do not write: I like it. Because it's nice.
