More Personal Questions

What are we learning today?

You will understand personal questions that ask for a reason, a plan or an opinion.

Explanation

Find the question word and the verb form first.

• "Why / Why not?" asks for a reason.
• "What do you think of ...?" asks for an opinion, not a fact.
• "are going to" shows a plan.
• "How important ...?" asks how much: very, quite or not important.

If you do not understand, ask your teacher: "Could you repeat that, please?"

Examples

1. Do you wear a uniform? Why / Why not? - No, because I like my own clothes.
2. What are you going to do after this class? - We're going to have lunch.
3. How important is your mobile to you? - It's very important because ...

Remember!

• Do not answer only "Yes" or "No". Add a reason.
• Read the whole question before you answer.
