Solving Problems in a Group

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to solve a problem with your group. You will speak and listen to your classmates.

Explanation

Group work has a clear order.

• One person reads the task.
• Everybody gives an idea.
• The group listens and compares the ideas.
• The group chooses the best idea.
• One person tells the class.

Listening is a skill too. Look at the speaker. Do not interrupt. Then add your idea.

Examples

1. I think we should choose this idea.
2. I agree, but my best subject is Science.
3. Let's choose the idea that all of us like. Who will report?

Remember!

• Listen to every idea before you choose.
• Use short phrases: "I think ...", "I agree, but ...", "What about you?"
