What are we learning today?

You will learn to tell what happened in the past, in the right order.

Explanation

• Use the past simple to tell a story about the past.
• Put the events in time order.
• Say who and when at the beginning. Then say what happened. Then say the result.
• Use time words: yesterday, last weekend, in 1718, when I was little.
• Use order words: first, then, later, finally.

Examples

1. Abulkhair Khan was born in 1693.
2. When he was 13, my granddad left school and started working.
3. First I woke up. Then I had breakfast. Finally I went to school.

Remember!

• Keep the past tense all the way through your story.
• Do not forget dates and time words.
