Joining Parts of Sentences

What are we learning today?

You will join two parts of a sentence with because, so, when, if, before, after and where.

Explanation

• Because gives a reason.
• So gives a result.
• When, before and after show time and order.
• If shows a condition.
• Where shows a place.
• After when, if, before and after, use the present simple for the future.

Examples

1. We like the hostel because it is cheap.
2. It was hot, so we went to the beach.
3. If it rains, we will visit the museum.
4. Take a camera before you go.

Remember!

• Say "When I get back", not "When I will get back".
• Do not use because and so together in one sentence.
