Present Perfect Experience

What are we learning today?

You will learn to say what you have done in your life. You do not say when.

Explanation

• The present perfect talks about an experience. The time is not important.
• Use have or has and the past participle.
• Regular verbs: add -ed.
• Irregular verbs: learn them. Go, gone. See, seen. Do, done. Take, taken.
• If you say a finished time, like last year, use the past simple.

Examples

1. I have visited Rome.
2. She has seen the castle.
3. Have you ever been to a museum? Yes, I have. / No, I haven't.
4. We went to New Zealand last year.

Remember!

• Experience, no time: have or has + past participle.
• Finished time: past simple.
