Asking Simple Questions

What are we learning today?

You will ask questions to get information about experiences and news.

Explanation

• Ask about experiences with "Have" or "Has", the subject, "ever" and the past participle.
• Give a short answer: "Yes, I have." or "No, he hasn't."
• Then ask in the past simple to get more details.
• To ask a friend for news, say "What have you been up to?"

Examples

1. Have you ever had a pet? - Yes, I have. My family had a dog a few years ago.
2. When did you get it?
3. Has your brother ever broken his arm? - No, he hasn't.

Remember!

• Do not forget "ever".
• Say "Have you ever gone", not "Have you ever went".

Check yourself
