Конспект
What are we learning today?
You will learn how to respect other opinions. You will also learn how to explain your own idea politely.
Explanation
- People have different opinions about school.
- First, listen to the whole idea. Do not interrupt.
- Then say "I understand".
- Then give your idea with "because".
- It is normal to disagree.
- To show another view, say "Some people say ... However, others say ...".
Examples
- I think cheating is bad because it is not fair.
- You like wearing a uniform - I understand. I don't, because I want to choose my clothes.
- Some people say we don't need Maths class. However, others say we use Maths every day.
Remember!
- Give a reason for every opinion.
- Be polite. Say "I see, but I think ..." and not "Your idea is silly".
Check yourself
- Why do we use "because" in an opinion?
- Which word introduces the opposite view: "However" or "Firstly"?
- Complete: "Some people say we need Maths. ___, others say we do not."
