What are we learning today?

You will learn how to listen to a long conversation. You will find details like numbers, times and places.

Explanation

Use three steps.

• First, predict. Look at the photos and guess the words you will hear.
• Next, listen for the general idea. For example, all four conversations are about people on holiday.
• Then, listen for details. Choose a, b or c. Listen for numbers, times, places and names. Read the options before you listen.

Examples

1. Holiday words: camping, guidebook, journey, souvenirs, sunbathe, tour guide, trip.
2. The man is going to have dinner a) on a boat b) at the hotel c) at half past seven.
3. Listen for "at 7.30", not for "late".

Remember!

• Predict first, then listen for the main idea, then for details.
• Do not choose an answer only because one word is familiar.
