Comparing with Adjectives

What are we learning today?

You will describe people and things. You will compare them with comparatives and superlatives.

Explanation

• An adjective describes a noun: a colourful festival.
• For short adjectives, add -er and than: tall - taller than.
• Add -est for the superlative: the tallest.
• If an adjective ends in y, change y to i: curly - curlier.
• For long adjectives, use more and the most: more beautiful, the most beautiful.
• Good becomes better and the best.

3. Hannah is the tallest in the family.
