Joining Sentences

What are we learning today?

You will learn to join sentences with small words. Your paragraph will be clear and logical.

Explanation

• "And" adds an idea.
• "But" shows a difference.
• "Because" gives a reason.
• "So" shows a result.
• "Then" and "after that" show the order of events.
• Check that the small word fits the meaning.

Examples

1. I like music and I play the dombra.
2. He can run very fast but I'm really slow!
3. Welsh is our first language so I usually speak Welsh.

Remember!

• Use "but" only when two ideas are different.
• "Because" gives a reason. "So" gives a result.
