You will learn to talk about quantity with many, much, a lot of and a few.

Explanation

• Use many with plural countable nouns: many people.
• Use much with uncountable nouns: much money.
• Many and much are common in questions and negatives.
• In positive sentences, use a lot of with both kinds of nouns.
• A few means some, a small number: a few friends.

Examples

1. Not many plants grow in the desert.
2. How much money do I get?
3. People eat a lot of meat and fish.

• Do not say "many water" or "much people".
• Do not say "I have much friends".
