Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will learn to say that something is possible, but you are not sure.

Explanation

  • Use "might", "may" or "could" for something that is possible.
  • After them, use the base verb without "to".
  • For the negative, use "might not" or "may not".
  • "Will" is stronger. It means you are sure.
  • "Might", "may" and "could" are weaker. They mean "maybe".

Examples

  1. It could be a snake.
  2. It may rain tomorrow.
  3. We might not go.

Remember!

  • Say "might go", not "might to go".
  • Do not add -s: say "he might", not "he mights".

Check yourself

  1. Complete the sentence with "might": The animal ___ be a tiger.
  2. Is "might" stronger or weaker than "will"?
  3. Make it negative: It might rain.
