Prepositions of Time and Place

What are we learning today?

You will use small words to say where things are, when things happen and where to go.

Explanation

• Place words: in, on, behind, in front of, between, next to.
• Direction words: to, into, out of, from, across, through.
• Use at for exact times and for night.
• Use in for parts of the day.
• Use on for days.
• Use about for a topic: "Tell me about your family."

Examples

1. The notebook is on the desk.
2. I get up at 7 o'clock.
3. In the morning I do some exercise.

Remember!

• At 5 pm, at night. In the afternoon. On Monday.
• Do not say "in Monday" or "at the morning".
• After go, use to: "go to the shop".
