What are we learning today?

You will say what is happening now and what is planned for soon.

Explanation

• Use am, is or are and a verb with -ing.
• It shows an action that is happening now: It's raining outside.
• It can also show a plan: We're planning a family trip today.
• Signal words are now, at the moment, this week and today.
• For a question, put am, is or are first: Is he having breakfast?
• Spelling: write - writing, stop - stopping.

Examples

1. My mum is cooking breakfast.
2. It isn't raining.
3. Are they having lunch? Yes, they are.

Remember!

• Do not write I working or I am work. Write I am working.
• A short answer is enough: Yes, I am.
• With now, do not use the present simple.
