What are we learning today?

You will learn to find what the author thinks in a short text.

Explanation

• The author shows an opinion with words of feeling, for example lucky, happy and wonderful.
• These words are often positive.
• Read the last sentence. The opinion is often clear there.
• Do not write your own opinion. Write what the author thinks.
• Show proof from the text.

Examples

1. The author says, "Damien is very lucky." The author thinks he is lucky.
2. The author says, "The Baxters are a very happy family." The author likes this family.
3. Raj says, "It's a wonderful time!" He loves Diwali.

Remember!

• Not every adjective is an opinion.
• Give proof from the text.
