What are we learning today?
You will learn to talk about rules, advice and what is necessary.
Explanation
- "Must" shows a strong rule. "Mustn't" means you cannot do it.
- "Should" gives advice. "Shouldn't" means it is not a good idea.
- "Need" shows that something is necessary.
- After must, mustn't, should and shouldn't, use a verb without "to".
- "Don't have to" means it is not necessary.
Examples
- You mustn't run.
- You should do more exercise if you want to get fit.
- We don't have to wear a uniform.
Remember!
- Say "You should study", not "You should to study".
- "Mustn't" is not the same as "don't have to".
