What are we learning today?

You will tell a story or explain steps in a clear order. Your listener will be able to follow you.

Explanation

• Start with the main idea.
• Put the steps in order.
• Use order words: first, next, then, after this, finally.
• Use "finally" for the last step.
• A story has a beginning, a middle and an end.
• Use the past simple for a story about the past.

Examples

1. One day last summer, I saw a thief. Then I chased him. Finally, I caught him.
2. First, I made notes. Next, I wrote the draft. Finally, I checked it.
3. Making a comic: plot, pencilling, inking, lettering, colouring.

Remember!

• Do not jump from one step to another.
• Do not give too many details at the beginning.
