Writing About the Past

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to write short sentences about things that happened in the past.

Explanation

• Use the past simple for finished actions.
• Regular verbs end in -ed: wait, waited. Work, worked.
• Irregular verbs change: write, wrote. Go, went. Find, found.
• Add a time word: yesterday, last week, two days ago.
• Put events in order with first, then and after that.

Examples

1. Last week I went to school by bus.
2. First I met my friend. Then we did our homework.
3. I had breakfast at seven.

Remember!

• Say "went", not "goed". Say "wrote", not "writed".
• Do not mix present and past in one story.
