Might, May and Could

What are we learning today?

You will say that something is possible, but you are not sure.

Explanation

• Use might, may or could + the base verb.
• They show a possibility. You are not sure.
• The negative is might not or may not.
• Can is different. Can shows ability or permission.
• Use maybe, perhaps and I think with these words.
• Do not add -s or to: not "He mights come", not "might to go".

Examples

1. Our team might win.
2. It may rain tomorrow.
3. We could play volleyball.
4. He might not come.

• Might, may and could mean "possible".
• Use the base verb after them.
