What are we learning today?

You will use small words to talk about time, place and direction.

Explanation

• Time: use on with a date, in with a month or a year, and at with an age or a time.
• Also use before and after: before 7 am, after school.
• Place: use in with a town or a country. Use at with an event.
• Describing a thing: a ball on a long stick.
• Direction: use to, into, out of, from and towards.

Examples

1. She was born in 2008.
2. The race is on Sunday.
3. He won a medal at the World Championships in France.
4. The player ran into the hall and came out of the changing room.
5. She runs towards the finish line.

Remember!

• Say "in 2008". Do not say "on 2008".
• Say "in Moscow". Do not say "at Moscow".
