Explanation

• Use the present simple for habits, facts and states.
• Use the past simple for finished actions.
• Regular verbs take -ed: walk, walked.
• Irregular verbs have their own forms: go, went. Take, took. See, saw.
• For a negative, use didn't and the base verb.
• Ago shows how long before now.

Examples

1. David goes to school by tram.
2. My parents took a lot of photos.
3. They didn't have a good holiday.
4. I went to the USA a year ago.

• Say didn't have. Do not say didn't had.
