Prepositions of Place and Movement

What are we learning today?

You will learn prepositions for place, travel and movement.

Explanation

• Place: in, on, at, against, next to, opposite, in front of, behind.
• Travel: say on foot, not "by foot".
• Use by with bus, train, bike and taxi.
• Movement: to, into, out of, from, towards.

Examples

1. The school is opposite the park.
2. The ladder is against the wall.
3. I usually travel to school by bus.
4. The boy ran out of the house into the garden.

Remember!

• On foot, but by bus.
• Into means going in. Out of means going out.
