Present Continuous

What are we learning today?

You will learn the present continuous. You will talk about now and about plans.

Explanation

• Form: am / is / are + verb-ing. For example: We're learning English.
• Negative: He isn't crying.
• Question: Are you listening? Yes, I am. / No, I'm not.
• Spelling: write - writing (drop -e), stop - stopping (double the last letter).
• Use it for now: now, at the moment, today.
• Use it for a plan: I'm meeting my friend tomorrow at 5.

Examples

1. We're having a music lesson now.
2. Where are you going?
3. We're going to the concert on Friday.

Remember!

• Use am, is or are with a verb ending in -ing.
