What are we learning today?

You will talk about actions happening now. You will also talk about plans for the near future.

Explanation

• Use am, is or are + verb-ing for an action now.
• Use the same form with a future time word for an arrangement.
• Do not use it for habits. For habits, say: I play football every Sunday.
• Spelling: run - running, write - writing, swim - swimming.
• Question: Are you listening? Short answer: Yes, I am.

Examples

1. The children are running now.
2. The coach is wearing a tracksuit.
3. Our team is playing on Saturday.
4. She isn't crying.

Remember!

• Always use am, is or are. Do not say "He wearing a cap".
• Watch the spelling: swimming has two m letters.
