Special Words and Patterns

What are we learning today?

You will learn useful groups of words and two patterns for speaking.

Explanation

• Arts words: act, dance, paint, draw, sing, take photos, read books, write stories.
• Music words: classical, folk, hip-hop, jazz, opera, pop, rap, rock, soul.
• Opinion words: interesting, great, boring, brilliant, terrible, fast, slow.
• Pattern 1: I love / like / hate + verb with -ing.
• Pattern 2: My favourite ... is ...
• Write the part of speech next to a new word, for example "paint (verb/noun)".

Examples

1. I love singing.
2. My favourite music is hip-hop.
3. My favourite music is pop. I think rap is boring.

• Learn new words in groups.
• Use words like "great" or "boring" to say what you think.
