Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will find how a narrator feels. You will see this in descriptions and actions.

Explanation

A narrator shows his feelings with words and actions.

  • "All was quiet and lovely." The place is beautiful.
  • "I could not enjoy this beauty." Watson is tense.
  • "My heart jumped." This shows strong excitement.
  • "I pushed myself back into the darkest corner." Watson is afraid.

Look at adjectives like lovely, darkest and cold. Look at action verbs too.

Examples

  1. The night was black and cold. The author makes you feel afraid.
  2. All was quiet and lovely in the golden evening light.

Remember!
