Understanding a Longer Conversation

What are we learning today?

You will understand a longer conversation or a story. You will also retell it in the right order.

Explanation

• A story has a beginning, a middle and an end.
• Listen for the characters, the place and the events.
• Listen the first time for who and where.
• Listen the second time for details.
• Then retell the story with "First", "Then" and "At the end".

Examples

1. Two friends talk about a computer game and their avatars.
2. A boy travels by snowmobile. Then he rides a sleigh with reindeer. At the end the family dances around a fire.
3. First Boris takes a snowmobile. Then he rides a sleigh. At the end they dance.

Remember!

• First listen for characters and events.
• Use "First", "Then" and "At the end" to retell.
