Writing a Paragraph

What are we learning today?

You will learn to write a paragraph. You will join short sentences into longer sentences.

Explanation

• A paragraph is a group of sentences about one idea.
• Start with a topic sentence. It tells the main idea.
• Then add details.
• Make a sentence longer with and, but and because.

Examples

1. Topic sentence: My school's unusual.
2. Detail: I do Drama and I have a Drama lesson every day.
3. Longer sentence: My school is big. It has a gym and a library, and we have PE twice a week.
