Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will use if, where, who, which and that to give more information.

Explanation

  • Use if for facts that are always true. Both parts use the present simple.
  • Use where for a place.
  • Use who for people.
  • Use which for things.
  • Use that for people or things.
  • Use before and after to show what happened first.

Examples

  1. If you heat ice, it melts.
  2. A castle is a building which has big strong walls.
  3. The man who lives next door is a vet.
  4. After we ate, we left.

Remember!

  • Do not use "who" for things.
  • Do not use "will" after "if" in a fact.
  • Do not forget who, which or that: not "A vet is a person helps animals".

Check yourself

  1. Complete: "A vet is a person ___ helps animals." (who / which)
  2. Complete: "A library is a place ___ you borrow books."
