What are we learning today?

You will learn to collect opinions, compare them and write a short summary.

Explanation

• An opinion has two parts: the choice and the reason.
• Ask your partner: Which do you prefer, houses or flats? Why?
• Write the choice and the reason together.
• Put the answers in a list and count them.
• Then report: Most people prefer ... because ...

Examples

1. Houses: more space, a garden. Flats: near shops, less cleaning.
2. Speaker 1 prefers houses because they are bigger and have more space.
3. Three students prefer houses, two prefer flats and one likes both.

Remember!

• Never write a choice without a reason.
• Count all the opinions, not only the ones you like.
• Do not mix facts and opinions.
