Joining a Longer Talk

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to keep a longer talk going. You will ask questions, give guesses and answer your partner.

Explanation

• A long talk is made of questions you ask each other.
• Take turns. Say two or three sentences, then your partner answers.
• To guess, say "I think ...", "Maybe ..." or "Perhaps ...".
• Ask back: "What do you think?"
• To give your opinion, say "In my opinion ...". To agree, say "I agree with you because ...". To disagree politely, say "I see it differently."

1. When do you think this photo was taken?
2. What do you think happens next?
3. I think the adults will be angry. What do you think?

Remember!

• Listen to your partner and answer.
• Do not stop at "I don't know". Ask a question back.
