You will learn how to find the main points when you listen to a long conversation. You will find who thinks what.

Explanation

• The main points are the topic and the speakers' opinions.
• Before you listen, guess the answer. Think about reasons.
• In the first listening, check your idea and get the general idea.
• In the second listening, find who says what.
• Make a table with three columns: name, opinion, reason.
• Listen for opinion words: I think, I'd prefer, I don't want, I'd love.

Examples

1. A programme is about a plan for a new shopping centre.
2. Angela, Ben and Lucy have different opinions.
3. Ben doesn't want more shops. He thinks there are enough.

Remember!

• Write the main opinions, not every detail.
• Do not mix up the names of the speakers.
