What are we learning today?

You will learn how to listen to a different opinion and answer politely. You will give your own view with a reason.

Explanation

• People can have different opinions. No one is "wrong".
• Listen first. Do not laugh.
• Show respect: I see your point. That's interesting.
• Then give your own view: I'd prefer to ... because ...
• You may disagree, but give a reason: I don't agree, because ...
• Stay kind.

Examples

1. I think a new shopping centre is a good idea. - I see your point, but I'd prefer to have a park here. Parks are good for families.
2. I don't agree, because we have enough shops.
3. Would you like to go to the new shopping centre? I'm sorry I can't. I haven't got enough money.

Remember!

• Say "I see your point" before your own view.
• Always give a reason with because.
