Writing About Feelings and Opinions

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to write four or five sentences about your feelings and opinions. You will give reasons.

Explanation

Use a phrase and a reason.

• Feelings: "I'm very excited." "I really loved this experience."
• Opinions: "I think", "I believe", "in my opinion", "I agree", "I disagree".
• Pattern: feeling or opinion + because + reason. Write in the first person. At the end of an email you can write "Best wishes".

Examples

1. "I'm very excited."
2. "I think travelling by train is better than flying because I can see the countryside."
3. "I'm not sure I agree. I think younger children enjoy playing with their friends."

Remember!

• Always give a reason with "because".
• Say "I'm excited", not "I'm exciting".
