Future: Going To and Will

What are we learning today?

You will talk about plans and about what you think will happen.

Explanation

• Use am, is or are + going to for a plan. The plan is already made.
• Use will or won't for a prediction. You think something will happen.
• After will, use the verb without to.
• Words like "I think" and "maybe" often go with will.

Examples

1. We're going to explore Thailand.
2. I think we will have a great time.
3. The weather won't be very nice tomorrow.

Remember!

• Going to is for plans. Will is for predictions.
• Do not say "I will to go". Say "I will go".
• Do not forget am, is or are: "I'm going to swim."
