Planning and Checking Writing

What are we learning today?

You will plan, write, correct and check a short text.

Explanation

Writing has four steps.

1. Plan: make notes or a word web.
2. Write: use your notes.
3. Correct: read the text again.
4. Check: look at spelling, grammar and words. Look for a capital letter, a full stop and the apostrophe in 's. The 's shows that something belongs to someone: my sister's bike.

Examples

1. Plan: My sister - bike - new - blue.
2. Write: My sister's bike is new. It's blue.
3. Wrong: my sister bike is new. Correct: My sister's bike is new.
