What are we learning today?

You will learn to find out how a writer feels. You will find the writer's opinion.

Explanation

• A fact is true information, like "The school has a guitar club".
• An opinion shows how the writer feels.
• Look for opinion words, like great, boring, terrible, brilliant and fantastic.
• Ask: Does the writer like it? Which words show it?

Examples

1. Our school is great. Gareth likes his school.
2. I think it's boring! This is an opinion about rugby.
3. The school's got a fantastic theatre. Anna likes her theatre.

Remember!

• Not every sentence is an opinion.
• Find the writer's opinion, not your own.
