Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to compare two things and how to say which one is the top of a group.

Explanation

  • Use the comparative for two things. Short adjectives take -er: small, smaller.
  • Long adjectives use "more": powerful, more powerful.
  • After a comparative, use "than".
  • Use the superlative for the top of a group: -est or "the most".
  • After a short vowel, double the last letter: big, bigger, the biggest.
  • Irregular: good, better, the best.

Examples

  1. My room is tidier than my sister's room.
  2. My parents have got the biggest bedroom.
  3. This laptop is lighter than that one.

Remember!

  • Do not say "more bigger" or "gooder".
  • Use "the" before a superlative.
