You will learn to find evidence in a long text. You will use it to answer a question.

Explanation

• Evidence is information in the text. It supports an idea.
• Evidence can be a fact, a number or an example.
• First, give your answer. Then, give the evidence.
• Use the word "because" to give the reason.
• Your own opinion is not evidence.

Examples

1. Yes, they could, because it cost one penny to stand in the pit.
2. It was an old bag because it was dirty.
3. The bag had a passport and two train tickets. This is evidence of a mystery.

Remember!

• Do not answer only "yes" or "no".
• Use a short piece of evidence. Do not copy a whole paragraph.
