You will learn to make an argument. You will support your opinion with a reason and an example.

Explanation

• An argument is an opinion with a reason and an example.
• An argument has three parts: a claim, a reason and an example.
• Use "because" for a reason.
• Use "For example" for an example.
• Another phrase for a reason: "One reason is ...".
• The example must support your claim.

Examples

1. Theatre is exciting. For example, you can see actors very close.
2. I'd like to sit under the roof because I'd stay dry.
3. One good thing about a small island is that it is calm.

Remember!

• "It's good" is not a full argument. Add a reason and an example.
• Use linking words: because, for example.
